Plaid Loven

So the year is coming to an end and I figured why not shoot with one of the best people I met this year…JESSIE of Jessieadore.com!!! We shot together in her area in Harlem and it just so happened we had on plaid jackets (great minds think alike aha). I found my coat at one of my go to thrift stores here in NYC. I almost had to fight a fellow thrifter because we both picked up the coat at the same time! The Iise Monk Sack

Bags have become more of a statement piece for guys. Probably because our pants have become more fitted where we can only fit our metro-card and wallet in them lol. My good friend Terrence of the Korean Brand Iise Accessories just began designing bags and I went crazy when I saw this one called the Monk Bag. What sets Iise’s bag apart from all others is that they are organically hand-dyed fabrics using traditional Korean techniques. The dying process is usually a month long, making each bag very different from each other. Click HERE to see their other products.

When I’m asked who my favorite designers are, it’s first instinct for me to reply Paul Smith. His play on different colors and styles of suites and men’s clothes in general is just amazing. He also does a lot of great prints, which I’m very keen on. So when I came across this old vintage sweater by this great man it took everything out of me not to run around the store and jump for joy. The colors and different patches of wool is what I’m all about wearing for fall. But what makes this sweater really dope is obviously how overly huge it is! Perfect for layering and mos def perfect for this new change of weather.

Shades Of Gray

For some odd reason it’s like natural instinct for us New Yorkers to wear dark colors when fall comes through with its chilly air. I’ve caught myself wearing a lot of grays and neutral color tones this past week. I’m usually referred to as the “printed joint” among some friends because of all my printed shirts that I normally wear lol. However, with the cloudy skies and cooler breezes, wearing dark colors just feels right…for the moment.

ADORE: The Homie

It’s been a while since I’ve done a post. I humbly apologize for that! With New York Fashion Week and working, my days were very limited. With that said, I’m truly blessed to know the people that I know. Especially the women! They always say “behind every strong man is a stronger woman”…well I have several of them ahaha! The GRUNGY Appeal

I do not really have a formula on the way I dress. (As corny and cliche as it may sound) I literally throw things on for the most part and pray that it works once I’m out the door! When Prints Collide

So those who follow my blog know that I have a huge addiction to printed…PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING AT THIS POINT LOL. The other day I was hanging out with my two friends Cleon & Mihal roaming the NYC streets. They introduced me to this brotha Eaddy of The Jersey Klan & I just had to shoot with him. He came walking down the street with his skateboard, this ill ass shirt, & crazed out hair. It was so random how our style pretty much clashed and meshed so well together at the same time.

The Detail

I find it very weird that, unlike other individuals, I’m more inspired by street style than actual runway shows. I’ve noticed a lot of guys wearing head wraps lately and I felt that was something I could NEVER pull off. I just thought it was a little too extreme for my liking. However, I was motivated from looking at movies from the 5o’s , 60′s and even the late and great brotha Tupac. This styling can be pulled off in a very masculine way. It’s all on how one carries it and puts it together.

THE COOL IN THE AIR

So I’ve grown a great liking to wearing my pants rolled up. I also dig wearing colorful socks now as well! (being that my wardrobe consists mostly of neutrals and blacks). I decided to explore my apartment building that I’ve been living in for 21 yrs and realized that the roof is open. It’s not supposed to be open because I was told it’s not too safe up there. However, someone broke the alarm system and I made it my duty to take some shots up here while I could. The view up there is the epitome of inner NYC and you can also see the Empire State Building through the night sky. THE BOOTS

Ok brothas and sistas fall is officially here!! This means that everyone will be on the hunt for their winter cuddle buddies to keep them warm during those chilly nights lol. This also means that I will be able to layer up again! I don’t know about you, but I was getting a little tired of wearing shorts and tank tops during the summer season.
